Engineering Organization
Communication
The team uses Microsoft Teams and Slack as tools for communication, and hosts weekly general meetings. Each major team also hosts a weekly meeting where detailed design and team operations are discussed.
File Management
OneDrive is used for all team related documents, with a hardware backup storing older vehicle documentation. Software is hosted on public GitHub repositories . We use Altium 365 to sync eCAD data and libraries across our electrical team members. SOLIDWORKS PDM stores vehicle CAD data and syncs it across all team members.
Engineering Design Processes
Our team uses a 3-step engineering design process, with a design review between each step. This gives every member a guided path to follow and help guarantee design success while minimizing component failure. The Technical Director teaches, maintains, and enforces this process throughout our design phase in the Fall.
