Sponsorship FAQ

All financial sponsorship and funding is provided to the team via SOuRCe, University of Akron’s student organization resource center. 100% of funds are directly provided to the team receiving sponsorship. From there, team funding is used by undergraduate students to purchase materials and parts, equipment for the workshop, manufacturing services, and anything else needed to ensure a successful competition season.

The total cost to build and compete with an electric FSAE car is typically around $150,000 dollars per season. The team affords this in a number of ways, including re-using components, university funding, corporate sponsorship, and donations from private individuals, members, and families.

There are many ways to sponsor our team, including financial sponsorship, material / in-kind donation, discounts on company products, use of facilties & services, as well as technical design sponsorship.
